The Strand Hill loop contains some old, steep gravel roads, but if you jump on one of the other nearby trails (Strand Bonus Trail or the Canal Trail) you can access the Strand Hill trail and the top of Strand Hill via singletrack in an out-and-back configuration.
This trail is such a beautiful section of singletrack winding through the deep aspens, definitely worth a hike!
Take highway 135 for 2 miles south out of town and turn onto Brush Creek Road on the left. Park in one of the parking spots (psuedo-trailheads) and ride your bike down the dirt road until you get to a jeep road on the right. You have to follow that up several climbs and go pretty far until you actually get to Strand Hill Trail. It's pretty hard to find if you're not a local.
